Bruce Wreford – Manager Brighton Downs

Bruce was educated in Perth and on leaving school in 1969, went to Mount Edgar Station at Marble Bar, then Mandora Station, Port Hedland and finished up at Mount House Station, Derby (Kimberley region of Western Australia).  He was Headstockman at Mount House when AAco bought Mount House and Brunette Downs in 1979.

In 1980 he was transferred to Brunette Downs as Assistant Manager. Bruce left Brunette Downs and went to Newcastle Waters as Assistant Manager in 1981.  On leaving Newcastle Waters Bruce started a contract mustering business, managed Vanrook Station, Normanton (until it was sold), brought a Slaughter house/Butchers shop and after that was sold he went back to managing properties in the West Kimberley district.

Bruce rejoined AAco in early 1991 Managing Gregory Downs.  He left Gregory Downs at the end of 1995 and went to VRD for a short time and came back to manage the AAco Helicopter Division early in 1997, where he remained until it was sold.  Bruce and his wife Meldie moved to manage Austral Downs in December, 2001.

Bruce and Meldie then transferred in January 2008 to the Managers position at Rockhampton Downs and then onto Brighton Downs in January 2009.
