Ray Jansen – Manager Canobie and Regional Manager Gulf Stations

Ray was born in Katherine NT. At the time, his father was the Manager of Limbunya Station in the NT.  Most of his early childhood was spent in the NT.  Ray first started school at Clermont Qld then moved to boarding school in Charters Towers.

On leaving school Ray worked in the Mt Isa area and the Gulf region where he was Headstockman at Augustus Downs.  He married his wife Kay and moved to the Channel country for a few years before heading to Lake Nash, where they spent seventeen and a half years.  They then moved to Helen Springs in the NT before joining AAco in 2003 as Manager of Kalmeta in the Gulf region.

In 2004 Ray became the Group Manager Growing, responsible for Clonagh, Dalgonally and Carrum in addition to Kalmeta.  Following a restructure in late 2005 he was appointed to the role of Regional Manager Growing, with additional regional responsibility for Brighton Downs and South Galway stations.

Ray has again been promoted to Regional Manager Gulf Stations which includes overseeing: Canobie, Wondoola, Dalgonally, and Carrum.

Ray and Kay have two grown children who both started their careers with AAco.  Ray’s hobbies are anything to do with horses; with racing and rodeo strong favourites.
